Discover Deniliquin Tour |
Go Back |
Discover Deniliquin Tour takes approximately 3 hoursVisit the Peppin Heritage Centre and marvel at the determination and perseverance of the pioneer men and women who through their vision led to the magnificent Peppin Merino and whose bloodline is still very much sought after today. Read about the magnificent pastoral properties that were settled along the Edward River and the struggle for water they endured prior to irrigation coming to the district. Reminisce in the old school room, laugh at the Headless Horseman tale in the old gaol and enjoy the main gallery where you will see one of the many exhibitions that are held there. A stroll or ride along the walking and bicycle path at the rear of the centre will take you along the Edward River to the Deniliquin Historical Society situated in the old Police Inspector’s residence. Built in 1880 the house has been completely restored and now has a comprehensive and informative display of life in early Deniliquin. Each room has a theme and the numerous well displayed items makes it a must on the to do list. Address: 304 River Road Deniliquin Your Hosts: Phone: Email: Website: |
